ITINERARY
Day 1: San Pedro Sula

Arrival in San Pedro Sula. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in San Pedro Sula.

Day 2: San Pedro Sula - Copán

After breakfast, transfer by public bus to Copan and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is left free to enjoy and explore the picturesque village of Copan. Overnight in Copán.

Day 3: Copán

In the morning a local guide will meet you at your hotel and escort you to the Copán Ruins Park, which is located 20 minutes walk away from Copán. You will tour the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán, which consists of two main sites, the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. Rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy and explore the cobble stoned streets of Copán. Overnight in Copán Ruins.

Day 4: Copán - Cerro Azul Meambar

Meet with your guide for the transfer to Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. On the way we will visit the impressive Pulhapanzak Waterfall located close the Yojoa Lake. The region around Yojoa Lake is rich in different habitats, and is home to a huge amount of migratory birds. The National Park Cerro Azul Meambar works as a retreating area for many species because of increased human activities around the Lake. Overnight Azul Meambar Visitor's Centre.

Day 5: Cerro Azul Meambar National Park

Today we explore the magnificent tropical forests of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The National Park is one of the main protected areas around Lake Yojoa, which is fed by the small rivers of the surrounding mountains. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest enjoying impressive views of the lake. Dinner and overnight Cerro Azul Meambar Visitor's Centre.

Day 6: Cerro Azul Meambar - Tegucigalpa

Transfer to Tegucigalpa, capital of Honduras. En route we will visit the city of Comayagua, which was once the capital of Honduras. We will visit the city's colonial Cathedral and learn about its interesting colonial history. After this tour we continue onto Tegucigalpa. Overnight in Tegucigalpa.

Day 7: La Tigra National Park

After breakfast transfer to the visitors centre of La Tigra National Park. La Tigra is home to an abundance of exotic animal species, numerous waterfalls and many well maintained trails. We shall enjoy a hike on the park trails, over the mountain. In the afternoon we drive to Valle de Angeles, where we visit the famous National Handicraft Centre. In the afternoon return to Tegucigalpa. Overnight in Tegucigalpa.

Day 8: Tegucigalpa - Trujillo

Departure from Tegucigalpa to Olancho, Honduran's interior. This region is one the most unknown in Honduras. Driving through a beautiful landscape we will reach the Caribbean town of Trujillo in the afternoon. In Trujillo, we will visit the Santa Barbara Fortress and William Walker's grave, the famous pirate who died here. Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 9: Capiro and Calentura National Park

Early morning excursion to the Capiro and Calentura National Park set on the mountain just behind Trujillo. The mountain offers a great view of the majestic Trujillo Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the country. In the afternoon we board a boat to explore the magnificent Guaymoreto Lagoon. Return for your overnight accommodation in Trujillo.

Day 10: Trujillo - Lancetilla - Tela

Transfer to Tela, travelling through some of the most picturesque areas of Honduras. En route we will visit La Ceiba, one of the most hospitable towns in Honduras. We will take a city tour of the main attractions. Before reaching Tela we will visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. The United Fruit Company founded the gardens over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site. Overnight in Tela.

Day 11: Tela - Punta Izopo NP

In the morning we leave for Punta Izopo National Park. This excursion involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make up this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and to observe the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Overnight in Tela.

Day 12: Tela - San Pedro Sula

Transfer to the San Pedro Sula airport on time to connect with your departure flight
