ITINERARY
Day 1: San Pedro Sula

Arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel. Free day.

Day 2: San Pedro Sula - La Esperanza

To start our tour we will visit the down town area to observe the intense commercial activity of the fastest growing city in Central America. After our visit to the local handicraft market "Guamilito" with its colourful stores we continue via Lake Yojoa to La Esperanza, in the heart of the Honduran mainland, high in the mountains. On the way we visit the impressive Pulhapanzak Waterfall. Arrival to La Esperanza in the late afternoon and overnight stay.

Day 3: La Esperanza

Today we visit the neighbouring towns of La Esperanza, for a look at the different lifestyles of the local inhabitants, the Lenca. Located at approx 1600 m above sea level, La Esperanza has a fresh climate that is perfect for agriculture. Overnight in La Esperanza.

Day 4: La Esperanza - Gracias - Santa Rosa

Morning transfer to Gracias. We discover the Gracias colonial history with its churches and the fortress San Cristobal. In the afternoon we transfer to Santa Rosa de Copán. Overnight.

Day 5: Santa Rosa de Copan - Copán

We tour the village of Santa Rosa in the morning and visit the famous "Flor de Copán" tobacco factory. We continue our way to Copán. En route we will learn about Mayan trade routes, social and political organization, and theories on their mysterious demise. We will enjoy the beautiful countryside as we travel to the picturesque village of Copán. Overnight in Copán.

Day 6: Copán

This morning a local guide will meet you in your hotel. He will escort you to the Copán Ruins Park, which is located 20 minutes walk from Copán. You will tour the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán, which consists of two main sites, the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and the masterfully carved Stella. Overnight in Copán.

Day 7: Copán - San Pedro Sula

This morning is left free for you to explore Copán at your own leisure. In the afternoon you will take the direct bus back to San Pedro Sula. Overnight in San Pedro Sula.

Day 8: San Pedro Sula

Transfer to the San Pedro Sula airport in time for your international departure flight.
